This map is created by merging the 24-hr Storm Total Precipitation
(STP) product observed at the National Weather Service WSR-88D Doppler
radars at Cheyenne, Wyoming, Denver, Colorado, Pueblo Colorado,
Goodland, Kansas and Grand Junction, Colorado.
This map is subject to under-estimation/over-estimation of
precipitation amounts due to radar performance issues. However, it is
very useful at providing the spatial coverage of the heavy
precipitation. It will show all radar areas of rainfall of a trace or
more. Surface Observations are also depicted by small dots. Simply
move your cursor over them to see the rainfall amounts. You
can also click on them to retrieve more information. (This map may
take a several seconds to load)
This product is issued once daily before 1100AM and is used to identify
areas of the state that a likely to experience a flood threat due to
snowmelt, rainfall or thunderstorms.
