Using historic weather data, HDR
meteorologists can provide expert guidance in forensic cases that require
accurate weather data. Liability and property claims, in which weather is a
critical factor, rely on the presentation of weather information. HDR
meteorologists have assisted in the successful defense of clients by
developing detailed weather variable evaluations and estimations using
historic weather data.
A weather evaluation can include analysis of factors such as temperature, wind speed and direction, amounts of liquid and frozen precipitation and sunshine percentages. A weather analysis can also document the freeze/re-freeze cycles for snow or ice during a specified time period.
HDR supplements our technical expertise in weather reconstruction with high quality and clear graphical data presentation. Increasing use of sophisticated computer graphics and video animation of weather data allows HDR to stand out with our combined skills in technical weather analysis and graphical presentation of data.
Historic Weather Event Reconstruction:
Deters v. Ag Ditch – Coordinated effort between ASG and Water Resources section to define heavy rainstorm values and runoff impacts for a June 2004 storm that resulted in flooded home. Results of analysis absolved the defendants from damages.
Analysis and Graphics Support:
USPS / Colorado Snow Storms – Detailed graphical analysis of snow, snowdepth, winds and road closures across Colorado during Dec. 2006/Jan. 2007 blizzards. Results helped local United States Postal Service local management explains sudden decline in delivery rates to Postmaster General.
